CAD design & 3D scanning

Need a part that does not exist yet, or a digital copy of one that does? We design printable parts from your sketches, photos and measurements, and scan objects into 3D models.

Every job is different, so every job is quoted on its own. Tell us what you need and we reply with a fixed price before any work starts.

CAD design

  • New parts from a sketch, a photo or your measurements.
  • Replacement parts — a broken clip, knob, bracket or cover, measured and remodeled.
  • Changes to an existing model so it fits, mounts or prints better.
  • Designed for 3D printing from the start: wall thickness, orientation and fit worked out before anything is printed.

3D scanning

  • Scan to mesh (STL or OBJ) — for printing, reference or a digital record.
  • Scan to CAD — the scan rebuilt as an editable model you can change.
  • For objects about 4 inches (10 cm) across and larger. Smaller parts are usually better measured and modeled; we will tell you which suits yours.
  • Dark, shiny or clear surfaces may need a removable scanning spray. We ask before using it.

How it works

  1. 1

    Tell us about the job

Describe the part and what it is for. We reply by email, so you can send photos, sketches or measurements in that thread.

  2. 2

    Get a fixed quote

We look at what is involved and send one price for the whole job. No hourly meter running.

  3. 3

    Approve and we start

Nothing begins until you have said yes to the quote. For a scan, that is when we send packing and shipping details.

  4. 4

    Receive your files

You get the finished files by email — and if you want it printed, we can quote that too.

Sending us an object to scan

  • It must ship as a standard parcel with UPS, USPS, FedEx or a similar carrier. We cannot take freight, bulky or oversized items.
  • Shipping to us and back to you is included in your quote.
  • Our scans are for design and reproduction. They are not certified measurement or inspection.

Your files are yours

Once your job is paid, the design is yours. You receive the print-ready STL and the editable STEP file, and we do not sell, publish or reuse your design.

What we will not take on

Firearms or firearm components, copies of trademarked or copyrighted items you do not have the rights to, and anything else in our Acceptable Use Policy.
