Materials & colors
We print in PETG. One material, done properly, rather than five done adequately. More will follow as the shop grows.
PETG
Polyethylene terephthalate glycol
The practical default for parts that have a job to do. Tougher than PLA, far easier to print than ABS, and it does not go brittle sitting in the sun or in a hot car. If you want one material for functional parts, this is it.
| Property | PETG | What that means |
|---|---|---|
| Heat deflection | ~80 °C (176 °F) | Survives a parked car in high summer |
| Tensile strength | ~50 MPa | Strong enough for brackets, mounts and enclosures |
| Impact behavior | Ductile | Bends and deforms before it snaps — unlike PLA |
| UV resistance | Good | Suitable for outdoor use |
| Moisture resistance | Good | Will not soften or swell in damp conditions |
| Chemical resistance | Good | Resists most household solvents and cleaners |
| Density | 1.27 g/cm³ | Used to calculate your part's weight and price |
Good for
- Functional parts, brackets, mounts and jigs
- Outdoor fittings and signage
- Automotive interior parts and organizers
- Enclosures and protective housings
- Replacement parts that need to actually hold
Not the right choice for
- Fine miniatures — resin printing gives sharper detail
- Sustained temperatures above about 80 °C (176 °F) — that needs ABS, ASA or a filled nylon
- Anything structural, load-bearing, or where failure could hurt someone. See our terms.
A note on food contact
PETG as a raw material is food-safe, but a printed part is not. The layer lines create grooves that trap bacteria and cannot be cleaned reliably, and the nozzle and filament path are not food-grade. We will not certify any printed part for repeated food contact, and we would rather say so plainly than let you assume otherwise.
Colors
Stock colors are shown at checkout and on the quote tool. Color availability changes with what is on the shelf, and there is minor variation between filament batches — if you need an exact match to something, tell us before ordering and we will check.
Need a different material?
Ask. If there is real demand for PLA, ABS, ASA, TPU or a carbon-filled filament, we will bring it in. Tell us what you need.
